Education is Top Priority in Petal

Many come to Petal because of its excellent schools. The Petal School District, covering grades PreK through 12 and serving over 4,000 students, boasts a graduation rate of 98.6% – one of the highest in Mississippi. Petal High School is known for its strong football team, show choir, and marching band, among other programs. The local community shows strong support for these schools.  Petal HS students consistently receive more than 10 million dollars a year in college scholarships. Petal has been recognized nationally as a Blue Ribbon School and was the first Excel by 5 school in Mississippi.
